AI Assistant Iksio to Be Pre-installed on Galaxy Phones Sold by LG Uplus

Samsung Electronics smartphones pre-installed with LG Uplus's AI call assistant 'ixi-O' are expected to be released.

According to the telecommunications industry on the 21st, LG Uplus and Samsung Electronics are discussing pre-installing the ixi-O application on Galaxy smartphones. Pre-installation of apps means that the app is installed as a default app when consumers purchase and use the smartphone for the first time. Usually, carrier-specific apps are pre-installed on smartphones released for carrier sales rather than for purchase through budget phone providers or manufacturers, making it easier for consumers to access the service without having to find and install the app themselves.

The pre-installation of ixi-O on Samsung Electronics smartphones is also known to possibly be applied starting with the new Galaxy S25 model to be released as early as the beginning of next year. ixi-O was launched on the 7th for iPhone 14 or later models with iOS 17 or higher operating system versions. An LG Uplus official said, "We are discussing pre-installing the ixi-O app on Android smartphones sold by LG Uplus, but the final decision on which devices will be applied has not been made yet."
