Kim Soo-young, a member of the Gwangju Seo-gu Council, announced on the 21st that he received a plaque of appreciation from the Korea War Veterans' Families Association (Branch Chief Lee Yeon-san).

The Korea War Veterans' Families Association annually presents plaques of appreciation to individuals or organizations that strive to enhance veterans' welfare at the highest national level.

The association explained the background, stating, "In recognition of his dedicated efforts for the Lunar New Year and regional community development, and especially for his special interest and cooperation in improving the welfare of the Korea Veterans' Association, which greatly contributed to the association's development, we present this plaque of appreciation with gratitude."

Councilor Kim Soo-young expressed, “It is a duty that must be fulfilled by both the national government and local governments to honor the veterans' families who sacrificed their lives and devotion for the country.” He added, “I will continue to work diligently to improve the respect and treatment of veterans' families so that they can live with pride.”
