"Agwijjim and Haemuljjim Are Just Kongnamuljjim, Aren't They?"... The Two Incomprehensible Picks by 'Michelin 1-Star' Fabri

Star chef Fabrizio Ferrari from Italy named Agwijjim and Haemuljjim as the Korean dishes he understands the least.

On the night of the 20th, Fabrizio, a Michelin 1-star chef for 15 consecutive years, appeared as a guest on the tvN variety show 'You Quiz on the Block.'

Falling for the charm of Korean cuisine, Fabrizio started living in Korea in 2019. When Yoo Jae-suk said, "I heard there are Korean dishes you don't understand," he replied, "Agwijjim or Haemuljjim."

He explained, "I can understand if it's called Kongnamuljjim (steamed bean sprouts), but I don't understand when it's called Haemuljjim (steamed seafood) because bean sprouts make up 95% of it. The monkfish is hidden at about 5%." He jokingly added, "Honestly, it's a dish I don't understand." Yoo Jae-suk laughed in agreement at Fabrizio's answer.

Regarding leaving the Michelin 1-star restaurant he had built over 15 years, he said, "I already thought that life was over. I told myself to take on a new challenge. It was a good choice in my life," adding, "I love Korean food and Korea that much."

Fabrizio also did not hold back his praise for Korean chefs. He said, "Koreans are the best in kitchens worldwide. They quickly solve sudden problems and work hard," adding, "They fit best with kitchen work. Perfect."
