Gangdong-gu, 2025 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Project Promotion

Gangdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soo-hee) announced on the 21st that it will conduct the winter intensive fundraising campaign "2025 Hope Ondol Warm Winter" in cooperation with the Seoul Community Chest of Korea to support low-income households in crisis until February 14 next year.

The Hope Ondol Warm Winter project is an annual fundraising activity carried out every winter. The collected donations and goods are used to support low-income residents and social welfare facilities in the area. This year, under the subtitle "Our Neighborhood Sharing Campaign," the project aims to emphasize warm interest and sharing within the local community.

The opening ceremony of the project, the "Love Temperature Tower Unveiling Ceremony," was held on the 15th at the Gangdong-gu Office auditorium. During the event, the district launched a group of promotional ambassadors composed of key local figures and held the unveiling of the temperature tower. Notably, Cowon Energy Service and the Gangdong-gu Medical Association became the first donors, contributing 10 million KRW and 7 million KRW respectively, taking the first step in sharing. Godeok Clean Energy also participated by donating 5 million KRW.

Residents wishing to donate can transfer funds to the dedicated Gangdong-gu account and then submit a donation certificate to the Welfare Policy Division of Gangdong-gu Office. Donations of goods can be made through the Welfare Policy Division or each community service center in Gangdong-gu.

Shin Soo-jung, head of the Welfare Policy Division of Gangdong-gu, said, "Through this project, we hope that local residents will reflect on the meaning of sharing and be able to give a warm winter to neighbors in need."
