Hong Beom-sik, Head of LG's Corporate Strategy Division (President, photo), has been appointed as the CEO of LG Uplus.
LG Uplus announced on the 21st that its board of directors held a meeting and appointed President Hong as the new CEO.
President Hong previously served as a partner at the global management consulting firm Monitor Group, head of new business development at SK Telecom, and joined the global consulting firm Bain & Company in 2011, where he held positions such as head of the Asia-Pacific telecommunications and technology sector, global director, and CEO of Bain & Company Korea.
He is known as an expert in IT fields including telecommunications, media, and technology, and is recognized for successfully leading various projects involving business vision and strategy formulation.
Since joining LG in 2019, he has served as the head of the Corporate Strategy Division, discovering growth engines at the group level and strengthening business competitiveness through active mergers and acquisitions (M&A), overseeing the group's corporate strategy.
Since 2022, he has also served as a non-executive director at LG Uplus and LG HelloVision, participating in key decision-making processes.
