Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, exceeded its target for the '120,000 Yeonsu-gu Residents' Signature Campaign to Urge the Construction of the 2nd Gyeongin Line Metropolitan Railroad,' which began on the 14th of last month, as of the 15th.
The signature campaign reached its goal of 120,000 signatures on the 4th, just 21 days after it started, and the final tally from both online and offline sources showed a total of 143,45 signatures. The petition expressing the urgent demand for the construction of the 2nd Gyeongin Line will be delivered to the relevant central government departments.

The construction project of the 2nd Gyeongin Line is a long-awaited project in Yeonsu-gu aimed at alleviating the inconvenience of metropolitan public transportation for residents due to the lack of a metropolitan railroad network, reducing travel time, and revitalizing the local economy.
Lee Jae-ho, Mayor of Yeonsu-gu, stated, "This signature campaign represents not just the achievement of a simple goal but a strong expression of the residents' desire for the prompt construction of the 2nd Gyeongin Line," adding, "We will deliver the voices of Yeonsu-gu residents to the central government departments and strongly urge the swift promotion of the 2nd Gyeongin Line."
