The exhibition by the Kansong Art Museum titled "As the Clouds Clear, the Moon Shines and the Wind Blows, the Stars Sparkle" reinterprets the essence of traditional Korean art through modern media art, emerging as a new cultural landmark in Seoul.
Passing through the entrance of the exhibition hall, a space where tradition and modernity coexist unfolds. Shin Yun-bok’s Portrait of a Beauty is vividly brought to life on screens as if moving, and the calligraphy of Chusa Kim Jeong-hui is transformed into digital three-dimensional visuals, allowing visitors to vividly feel the spirit of the brushstrokes.
A foreign visitor remarked, “Each exhibition space seems to guide you into Korea’s past and tells a story.” Especially for audiences unfamiliar with the Korean language, the visually and auditorily rich content makes it easy to immerse themselves in the exhibition.

The sensory-stimulating experiential exhibition is not just for visual enjoyment. In a piece based on the Hunminjeongeum Haerye, visitors can digitally try writing traditional calligraphy themselves, and works engaging the sense of smell and touch offer visitors unique experiences. Mexico’s national broadcaster described it as “a new form of exhibition harmonizing modernity and tradition,” recommending it highly to foreign tourists visiting Seoul.

The Korea Tourism Organization and Seoul Tourism Foundation are focusing on the “As the Clouds Clear, the Moon Shines and the Wind Blows, the Stars Sparkle” exhibition as a key content to attract foreign tourists and are actively supporting its promotion. The exhibition features 99 nationally treasured and designated cultural assets familiar to Koreans, including the Hunminjeongeum Haerye, Shin Yun-bok’s Portrait of a Beauty, Hyewon Jeonsincheop, and calligraphy by Chusa Kim Jeong-hui, stimulating not only sight and hearing but also smell and touch, enhancing immersion and making it an attractive content for foreign visitors to Seoul.
Based on the experience accumulated through this exhibition, the Kansong Art Museum plans to expand exhibitions to regional areas and overseas. A Kansong Art Museum official stated, “We will strive to ensure that Korean traditional culture reborn through digital media reaches more people.”
This exhibition, which allows experiencing Korean traditional art in a modern and creative way, is gaining new attention as a living space that goes beyond simple tourism content to showcase the depth and potential of Korean culture.
