The crackdown targets construction machinery parked on roads and vacant lots around residential areas that obstruct smooth vehicle flow or disturb citizens' peaceful living environment due to noise, etc.

The city plans to attach a crackdown warning notice upon the first detection of illegal parking to encourage voluntary relocation, and impose fines ranging from 50,000 won to a maximum of 300,000 won depending on the number of accumulated violations.

However, in cases where there is a significantly high risk of traffic accidents depending on the location and situation, fines will be imposed immediately without warning to raise awareness among construction machinery owners.

An official from Uijeongbu City stated, “As safety awareness related to construction has recently increased, complaints about illegal parking of construction machinery have also been on the rise,” and added, “We will strive to create a comfortable residential environment and a safe traffic environment for citizens through this special crackdown.”
