Mokwon University will mutually cooperate with the local national Chiang Mai University in Thailand to cultivate global talents.
On the 21st, Mokwon University announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for academic exchange with Chiang Mai University. The agreement was made to expand Mokwon University's international network and to provide a foundation for students of both universities to be active on the global stage through the exchange of various educational and research programs.

According to the agreement, both universities plan to operate mutual exchange programs for students and faculty, and create opportunities to learn about the languages, cultures, and histories of Korea and Thailand through short-term camps and exchange classes.
Chiang Mai University, established in 1964, is the first comprehensive university founded outside the capital city (Bangkok) in Thailand. In the '2025 World University Rankings' by QS, one of the world's top three university ranking organizations based in the UK, it ranked 571st globally and 23rd in Southeast Asia.
The university currently operates four campuses: three in Chiang Mai and one in Lamphun. The total number of enrolled students is 36,822.
Lee Hee-hak, president of Mokwon University, said, “The agreement will serve as an opportunity for Mokwon University to strengthen its global capabilities and provide students with broader opportunities for international experience. We will strive to open a new paradigm of global education together with Chiang Mai University.”
