The 'AI (Artificial Intelligence) Education' program of the Taean-gun Family Center in Chungnam has been selected as an exemplary case by Chungcheongnam-do.
On the 20th, at the '2024 Best Practices Performance Report for Supporting Diverse Families' held at Lotte Resort in Buyeo-gun and hosted by the Chungcheongnam-do Multicultural Family Support Hub Center, the Taean-gun Family Center's program 'Fostering Creative Global Talent - AI Exploration Connecting Present and Future' received the Excellence Award.
This performance report event aimed to share the achievements of major projects carried out this year by the 15 city and county family centers in Chungnam and to discuss future development directions. A total of 220 stakeholders, including those from the Taean-gun Family Center, participated.
The exemplary cases were finally selected through a second round of evaluation, in which 1,990 residents participated, following the first round of expert review held last month, as well as on-site presentations on the day. The Taean-gun Family Center was honored with the Excellence Award, receiving high marks for creativity, effectiveness, scalability, and effort.
The 'AI Exploration Connecting Present and Future' program at the Taean-gun Family Center was conducted last July and August to discover the potential of children from multicultural families in the region.
The center invited professional instructors to give lectures on 'ChatGPT' and 'AI Video and Music', and also provided separate media literacy education for students aspiring to become journalists, earning praise for offering practical support for students' future planning.
With this selection as an exemplary case, the Taean-gun Family Center plans to continue introducing various programs to help local multicultural families settle stably as members of the community.
An official from the county said, "We are making multifaceted efforts centered around the Taean-gun Family Center to promote community integration and increase understanding of multicultural families," and added, "We will continue to develop and operate various programs tailored to the needs of multicultural families, such as Korean language education, cultural understanding education, and practical skill training."
