NearsLab Steps Up for Safety at 'Malaysia Ultra Trail' Race

Official Sponsor Supports Entire Competition Process with Drone Technology

An AI autonomous flying drone from Korea participated in the mountain racing event "Malaysia Ultra-Trail by UTMB" held in the Taipin region of Malaysia.

AI drone company NeursLab announced on the 21st that it participated as an official sponsor of the Malaysia Ultra-Trail and carried out support activities for accident prevention and environmental protection. The Malaysia Ultra-Trail, held over three days from the 15th, is a long-distance mountain racing event covering up to 100 km. The race course is located in the world's oldest tropical rainforest, the "Virgin Jungle Reserve," and runs along mountain paths with a maximum altitude of over 1,300 meters.

NeursLab's self-developed small AI autonomous flying drone "AiDEN" demonstrated its technological capabilities throughout the event and was evaluated as contributing to the successful progress of the race. AiDEN was deployed on-site to quickly provide information to rescue teams in case of emergencies such as accidents or wildfires during the event. At the same time, it monitored participants' movement routes and real-time crowd density with high-resolution and thermal cameras, helping to ensure the safe completion of the race. Going forward, NeursLab plans to continue discussions with the Malaysian federal and state forestry departments on how AiDEN's technology can be introduced for forest and wildlife protection.

Choi Jae-hyuk, CEO of NeursLab, said, "As this event embodies the spirit of unity in the multiethnic and multicultural country of Malaysia, we wanted to create a race where people, animals, and technology all come together as an official sponsor," adding, "We spared no technical support to protect wildlife, another member of the ecosystem, and to create enjoyable memories for the participants."
