Mokdong 10th Complex Apartments will be reconstructed into an open complex with up to 40 floors and 4,045 households. Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, will hold a residents' briefing session on the 'Mokdong 10th Complex Reconstruction Project Maintenance Plan Establishment and Maintenance Zone Designation Proposal' at 2 p.m. on the 22nd at Yangcheon Haenuri Town.
Completed in 1987 and now in its 37th year, Mokdong 10th Complex passed the reconstruction safety inspection last January and prepared this maintenance plan through a fast-track integrated planning advisory project.
According to the maintenance plan (proposal), Mokdong 10th Complex (area 194,686.2㎡) will be reborn as a mammoth-scale complex with up to 40 floors and 4,045 households, up from the existing 15 floors and 2,160 households. Key features include an open complex that communicates with surrounding areas, a harmonious landscape plan between the complex environment and the surrounding city, and a pedestrian-centered living environment linking the complex and surrounding areas.
The plan includes a community axis to activate communication with the local community, such as placing neighborhood living facilities along pedestrian routes and creating public pedestrian pathways considering easy access to the Mokdong central commercial district. Additionally, the height plan, considering urban context and landscape, will form a harmonious three-dimensional skyline with the surroundings.
In particular, within the complex, a safe school route will be created considering the school districts of Yangmyeong Elementary School and Shinseo Middle School. A school commuting route linked to pedestrian routes and public pedestrian pathways will be established, and various community facilities such as care centers, daycare centers, and small libraries will also be arranged.
The district office will conduct a public inspection of the maintenance plan (proposal) until the 23rd of next month, collect residents' opinions, and after hearing the district council's opinions, holding a fast-track integrated planning advisory meeting, and conducting an educational environment evaluation, will apply to Seoul City for designation of the maintenance zone.
Lee Ki-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, stated, "At this briefing session, we will explain the progress of the Mokdong 10th Complex reconstruction project and the maintenance plan, and actively collect residents' opinions. We will do our best to ensure that the reconstruction is successfully carried out through prompt and systematic preparation, contributing to stable housing supply and improvement of the residential environment."
