Guro-gu Nanum Network Uses Neighbor Aid Fund... Supports 10 Types of Heating Supplies Worth 34 Million KRW
Guro-gu has launched a support program to provide heating supplies for vulnerable groups to help them stay warm during the winter.
The winter heating supplies support is organized by the Guro-gu Sharing Network (Guro-gu, Guro Hope Welfare Foundation, Seoul Community Chest of Korea).
The support targets households without heating supplies or those needing replacement due to old equipment, as well as crisis households requiring assistance during severe cold periods, identified by welfare planners at local community centers. The necessary heating supplies were prepared using neighbor-helping donations raised by the Guro-gu Sharing Network last year.
The support items include 10 types of heating supplies totaling 1,186 units: heated mats, winter blankets, electric heaters, winter socks, draft stoppers, hot packs, electric blankets, winter mats, knee blankets, and insulating bubble wrap.
In this regard, on the 20th, the district office held a delivery ceremony and distributed the support items to each local community center.
The distributed items will be handed out at community centers according to each neighborhood’s schedule, and for some households with mobility difficulties, welfare planners or visiting nurses will visit to check on their well-being and deliver the items directly.
A Guro-gu official said, “We hope this heating supplies support will help people spend a safer and warmer winter,” adding, “We will continue to build a more thorough social welfare delivery system centered on the local community.”
