Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that on November 27 at 2 PM, the Songpa Book Museum will host a 'Book Culture Lecture' featuring Sister Lee Hae-in, a poet and essayist.

The Songpa Book Museum, established in 2019 as Korea's first public book museum centered on books, offers various educational programs such as exhibitions and lectures. In particular, through the 'Book Culture Lecture,' it provides opportunities for direct meetings between authors and readers, gaining much love from local residents.

This Book Culture Lecture will be led by Sister Lee Hae-in, who conveys gratitude and comfort to the world and neighbors through numerous works.

Sister Lee Hae-in is not only a religious figure but also a poet and essayist beloved by Koreans. Since her first poetry collection "Territory of Dandelions" in 1976, she has actively produced works including "Set Fire to My Soul," "Today I Drift as a Half Moon," "I Want to Be an Empty House in a Remote Village," and essay collections such as "Durebak," "Flower Shovel," "The Pope's Twitter," and "Ten Thoughts on Life."

Her recent work includes "Precious Treasures," a collection of reflections published this year to commemorate the 60th anniversary of her joining the Benedictine Sisters. Having lived 60 years as a nun and poet, she continues active communication with readers through warm language in her writings.

The lecture topic is "Ten Thoughts on Life," which is also the title of her 2023 essay collection. The book contains reflections on ten important themes frequently addressed in her prayers and poetry, such as poverty, coexistence, joy, comfort, and gratitude. Through this lecture, attendees can encounter Sister Lee Hae-in's life philosophy and profound insights.

Additionally, there will be a Q&A session where Sister Lee Hae-in will interact directly with the audience. This will provide a communicative opportunity to understand the writing process and literary world of the poet nun Lee Hae-in.

The lecture will be held free of charge on the 27th at 2 PM in the Eoullim Hall on the first floor of the Songpa Book Museum. Any adult interested in book culture may participate, and applications can be made through the Songpa Book Museum website.
