President Yoon Suk-yeol returned to South Korea on the morning of the 21st through Seoul Airport after attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Peru and the Group of Twenty (G20) summit in Brazil.
At the airport, Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min, Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok, Senior Secretary for Political Affairs Hong Cheol-ho, First Vice Foreign Minister Kim Hong-gyun, and Commander of the Air Force 15th Special Mission Wing welcomed President Yoon.
President Yoon departed on the 14th and completed an eight-day, five-night schedule, attending the APEC summit and the G20 summit consecutively.
On his first visit to Latin America, President Yoon strongly condemned the illegal military cooperation between Russia and North Korea on the multilateral diplomatic stage and called for solidarity from the international community.
He also stated that South Korea will fulfill its responsible role as a global pivotal state to achieve sustainable and inclusive growth.
Taking advantage of the APEC summit, he held bilateral meetings with the leaders of the United States and Japan, South Korea and China, South Korea and Japan, and South Korea and the United States, discussing responses to North Korea’s provocations and Russia’s troop deployments.
