Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) held a 'Child Abuse Prevention Campaign' around Jayang Intersection on the 19th in observance of Child Abuse Prevention Day.
November 19th every year is a legal commemorative day designated as 'Child Abuse Prevention Day' to raise awareness about the prevention and prohibition of child abuse. Accordingly, the district organized this campaign to raise awareness of the seriousness of child abuse and promote proper parenting methods.
About 20 officials, including representatives from Gwangjin-gu Office, Gwangjin Police Station, and Gwangjin-gu Child Committee, participated in the campaign. The public, private, and police sectors jointly walked around the busy Jayang Intersection area, distributing promotional materials such as leaflets and hand warmers to help improve awareness of child abuse.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "Through this campaign, I hope children and guardians develop a proper understanding of child abuse and create families that respect each other," adding, "Gwangjin-gu will continue to prepare and operate various educational programs to eradicate child abuse."
In addition, from the 18th for a week, Gwangjin-gu has been actively promoting the importance of child abuse prevention through the district office's electronic display board and the Gwangjin-gu Office website, taking the lead in creating a safe environment for children from child abuse.
