Namyangju City Holds Meeting of Mental Health Crisis Response Strengthening Council

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 20th that it held the second half of the year Mental Health Crisis Response Regional Council meeting on the 19th to effectively respond to mental health crisis and emergency situations within the local community.

The regional council is composed of officials from △Namyangju Public Health Center △Namyangju City Council △Namyangju Southern and Northern Police Stations △Namyangju Fire Station △Namyangju Mental Health Welfare Center △local mental health medical institutions △mental rehabilitation facilities, and holds meetings every six months.


At the meeting, in-depth discussions were held to share difficulties in crisis situations such as emergency hospitalization status, roles of related organizations, and response measures when crises occur, and to improve these issues.


In particular, key topics focused on strengthening a rapid response system in mental health crisis situations and establishing a crisis response system through cooperation among related organizations.


Based on the discussions of this council, the city plans to further supplement the mental health crisis response system within the region and continue to strengthen organic cooperation among institutions through regular council operations.


Jung Tae-sik, Director of Namyangju Public Health Center, said, “Close cooperation among all institutions in mental health crisis situations is essential to protect the lives and safety of local residents,” adding, “We will do our best through the council to create a safer and healthier environment in the local community.”
