Member Public Hearing Held, System Reform for Opinion Collection Planned
Dong-A University is drawing attention by deciding to drastically improve its faculty personnel system and performance reward system. The policy aims to ensure that faculty members who work hard receive greater rewards than before.
Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) announced that it held a "Public Hearing for Enhancing University Research Capabilities" on the 19th. About 40 participants, including deans, graduate school directors, academic officers, and related staff, attended the hearing held in the university headquarters' main conference room.
Selected as a "2024 Glocal University" by the Ministry of Education, Dong-A University launched the "University Research Innovation Promotion Committee" to promote "Faculty Personnel Innovation for Leap to a Global University" as one of its detailed tasks, and began a process to gather opinions from all faculty members.
President Lee Hae-woo also announced in his inauguration speech as the 17th president in August that he would "improve the performance reward system." In his speech, he stated, "We will institutionalize a system that provides appropriate rewards to members who are faithful to their duties," and added, "We will drastically improve the performance reward system so that professors and staff who achieve outstanding results can receive due rewards."
Starting with this public hearing, Dong-A University plans to continue the process of gathering opinions from all faculty members through meetings by individual colleges, comprehensive opinion collection and sharing with the promotion committee, discussions between departments and the promotion committee, and academic officer meetings.
