"Ordering 50 Desserts and 50 Drinks Then No-Show and Phone Blocked"... Cafe Owner Woman Breaks Down in Tears A story of a self-employed person who shed tears because of a customer who made a large order of bread and drinks and then no-showed has been revealed. Instagram

A cafe owner shared a heartbreaking story about so-called 'no-show' customers who placed large orders for drinks and bread but never showed up.

A, who runs a cafe in Songpa-gu, Seoul, revealed the 'no-show' incident on Instagram on the 15th. A said, "Small business owners laugh and cry even over small orders during truly difficult and challenging times. Especially for tiny cafes like ours, it's even harder." Recently, A received a large order of 50 scones, 50 financiers, 25 Americanos, and 25 strawberry lattes and requested prepayment from the customer. He explained the situation: "I tried to get prepayment, but when they asked to transfer the deposit, I responded with 'Should I go pay right now?' thinking it was suspicious, so I said, 'Then please pay when you come to pick it up.'"

However, the customer never showed up. In a video A shared, he is seen calling somewhere on his phone, and when the call is not answered, he breaks down in tears. A lamented, "This is the first time I've ever experienced a no-show, so today's impact is really strong. They said they would arrive soon but then blocked me." He added, "Was it wrong for the owner to trust?" He continued, "I cried in front of regular customers. I love and appreciate all the customers who have kept every promise without no-shows so far and have made me believe the world is pure and clear. And thanks to the no-show guy, I realized that the customers I've had until now were angels without wings."

Netizens who read the story responded with comments such as "No-show countermeasures are definitely needed," "Prepayment must be mandatory," "They deserve divine punishment," "Would they want to do that in such hard times?" "Stay strong, small business owners nationwide," "They should be sued for business obstruction," "Do they have no conscience at all?" "As a small business owner, I beg you, please don't no-show," "They ruined a whole day's business," and "Seeing him cry is so heartbreaking."

Meanwhile, intentional no-shows are considered business obstruction crimes. They can be punished with up to five years in prison or a fine of up to 15 million won.
