Providing Science Education and Experience Opportunities to Youth in Population-Declining Areas
BNK Gyeongnam Bank is rolling up its sleeves as employees and their families join forces to provide science education and experiential opportunities to children and adolescents in depopulated areas.
On the 20th, BNK Gyeongnam Bank announced that employees and their families are participating in the ‘Sharing Volunteer Donation Challenge,’ a campaign to raise donation funds through volunteer activities.
The Sharing Volunteer Donation Challenge is a new trend in social contribution that combines volunteering with donations. When the target volunteer hours are achieved, it supports children and adolescents in depopulated areas by providing opportunities to visit the National Busan Science Museum.
On the 15th, BNK Gyeongnam Bank signed the ‘Save Our Gyeongnam Project No. 3 Business Agreement’ with the National Busan Science Museum and has been actively conducting the Sharing Volunteer Donation Challenge.
Employees and their families plan to participate in BNK Social Contribution Day and weekly voluntary volunteer activities until December 15, aiming to complete 1,000 volunteer hours, raise 20 million KRW in donations, and contribute the funds.
On the 16th, to mark BNK Social Contribution Day, about 500 BNK Gyeongnam Bank employees and their families carried out environmental cleanup volunteer activities along Namgang River in Jinju City and Taehwa River area in Ulsan Metropolitan City.
Lee Eun-seok, Manager of the Process Innovation Department, who participated in the Namgang River environmental cleanup volunteer activity in Jinju City, said, “I agreed with the purpose of the Sharing Volunteer Donation Challenge and joined the volunteer activity with my family. I will actively participate in volunteer activities during the remaining period of the challenge to provide children and adolescents in depopulated areas with opportunities to visit the science museum.”
