On the 20th, Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced that on the 19th, it conducted a capacity-building education program for 30 parents in the district at the multipurpose room of Gokseong Children's Library to promote awareness of ESG.
'ESG' stands for Environmental protection, Social contribution, and Governance. The Office of Education was the first among provincial education offices nationwide to introduce sustainable ESG through the enactment of ordinances and the formation of committees last year.

This education program was prepared to enhance trust in Jeonnam education by spreading ESG awareness and to support customized parent education in preparation for future education and diverse demands.
Lee Seohyun, the representative of 'Sinnanda Village School,' received great response from parents by easily explaining ESG through a lecture on aromatherapy using eco-friendly materials.
A parent who participated in the education said, "Through this program, I realized once again the importance of ESG," and added, "I will practice ESG in daily life for the future of our children."
Jung Byung-guk, Director of the Education Autonomy Division, said, "Jeonnam education's ESG education is achieving results in spreading awareness among parents," and added, "We plan to conduct ESG awareness education for parents in consideration of regional circumstances going forward."
