Chuncheon City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Yuk Dong-han) announced on the 20th that Chuncheon Future Companion Foundation (Chairman Shin Yong-jun) changed the institution name from the previously used Chuncheon Wisdom Forest Foundation to ‘Chuncheon Future Companion Foundation’ through a registered change on the 19th.

According to a foundation official, ▲the previous name did not clearly express the foundation’s vision or business areas, causing issues in building the institution’s image, and ▲there was a need to change the name to respond to the rapidly changing demographic structure, so the name was changed to ‘Chuncheon Future Companion Foundation’ following related procedures.

The official also stated that the new name ‘Chuncheon Future Companion Foundation’ ▲clearly defines the foundation’s unique values and roles, providing Chuncheon citizens with a positive perception of the foundation, ▲aims to improve the quality of life and retirement preparation of Chuncheon citizens through customized jobs and various programs for middle-aged and elderly residents of Chuncheon, and ▲embodies the will to create a sustainable future of mutual growth by cooperating and coexisting with the local community.

Along with the changed name, the foundation confirmed an organizational restructuring plan at the board meeting on October 30 to revitalize projects and improve management efficiency. The reorganized structure consists of the Future Preparation Business Department, the Retirement Companion Business Department, and the Strategic Management Office under the Secretariat General.

The existing New Middle-Aged Business Team was reorganized into the Future Preparation Business Department, supporting citizens’ retirement preparation by conducting basic surveys and policy development for the new middle-aged and senior generations, operating the Regional Retirement Preparation Support Center, running lifelong learning education programs such as the Senior Academy, and managing club projects for community formation and support.

The Senior Business Team was reorganized into the Retirement Companion Business Department, planning to carry out various customized job projects utilizing the wisdom and experience of the senior generation and retirees, as well as roles such as registering advance directives as retirement companions.

The Management Support Team was reorganized into the Strategic Management Office, planning to support the implementation of the management’s ESG management plans, establish a trusted and contributory management system, and fulfill the role of a public institution communicating with the local community.

Shin Yong-jun, Chairman of Chuncheon Future Companion Foundation, said, “Through the foundation name change contest, we communicated with citizens, and after deliberations with Chuncheon City and Chuncheon City Council, the related ordinance was amended on October 29 to promote the foundation name change.” He added, “Through the name change and internal organizational restructuring, we will accompany citizens and make our best efforts to realize a happy community with thorough retirement preparation in line with Chuncheon city administration.”
