Kim Junsu (37), a singer and musical actor formerly of the group TVXQ, was revealed to have been extorted of 800 million KRW by a female BJ, and his agency has announced plans for legal action against netizens.
On the 19th, Kim Junsu's agency, Palm Tree Island, released an official statement saying, "We take all acts that damage reputation, such as malicious slander, spreading false information, and personal attacks against Kim Junsu, very seriously," and added, "Accordingly, we have appointed the law firm Kim & Chang and have begun strong legal action."
They stated, "Malicious slander and defamation posts, as well as the spread of baseless rumors, are clearly considered criminal acts, and we plan to take strong civil and criminal measures without any negotiation or leniency," adding, "We have already secured sufficient related evidence and are proceeding with legal procedures based on this." They also said, "We are currently thoroughly collecting additional materials regarding ongoing malicious posts and the spread of false information, and all secured materials have already been submitted to the law firm."
Furthermore, they said, "We are conducting focused monitoring on malicious posts occurring in specific online communities such as DC Inside, The Qoo, Instiz, Daum Cafe, and Nate Pann," and added, "If malicious acts against the artist continue by abusing anonymity, we clearly state that we will respond strongly through legal measures without any understanding or leniency." They also emphasized, "We are thoroughly investigating the actions of some netizens who continue to spread indiscriminate false information and distorted criticism, and all confirmed cases will be strictly handled through legal procedures."
