The nutrition teachers assigned to the education support offices will assist with menu planning, nutrition management, hygiene and safety management, dietary guidance, and nutrition counseling for small-scale private kindergartens with 50 to 99 children, in accordance with the Enforcement Decree of the School Meals Act.
In addition, the Office of Education collaborates monthly through traveling nutrition teacher meetings to jointly produce nutrition education materials and strives to provide nutrition and dietary education tailored to the characteristics of each kindergarten to help young children improve their eating habits and promote health.
Meanwhile, according to a recent study titled “Survey on Meal Management Support for Small-Scale Private Kindergartens without Assigned Nutrition Teachers” published by the Gyeonggi Institute of Education, a survey on additional support needed beyond the current meal management support showed that “nutrition education for young children” was the highest at 48.1%.
