Gyeonggi-do to Hold 'Urban Policy Forum' in Hwaseong on the 21st

Gyeonggi Province will hold an urban policy forum in Hwaseong.


On the 20th, Gyeonggi Province announced that on the 21st, it will hold the "55th Gyeonggi Urban Policy Forum" at Sintex (SINTEX) in Hwaseong City under the theme "Characteristics and Tasks of Gyeonggi Province for Creating a Sustainable Future Space."

The forum, attended by urban planning officials from Gyeonggi Province and its cities and counties, consists of three thematic presentations: ▲ Trends and tasks in promoting compact cities around station areas ▲ Development centered on TOD (Transit Oriented Development) and application plans for station area development ▲ Conditions of TOD and implications for happy cities.


The presenters include Minho Seo, Research Fellow at the Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements, Hyungon Sung, Professor at Hanyang University, and Mincheol Song, Director at the Office for Government Policy Coordination. After the presentations, Professor Changgyu Choi of Hanyang University will chair a discussion with Professor Kyunggu Hong of Dankook University and Research Fellow Jihyun Yoo of the Gyeonggi Research Institute.


A Gyeonggi Province official stated, "We hope this will be an opportunity to once again recognize the importance of development centered on station areas and public transportation," adding, "We expect it to be a meaningful occasion for preparing efficient spatial plans centered on public transportation."
