On the 20th, Gyeonggi-do and Gyeonggi-do Corporation announced that they held the “Good Price Good Consumption Proclamation Ceremony” for mutual growth through the activation of the public delivery app ‘Baedal Teukgeup’ and solidarity between public and private delivery platforms on the 19th at the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center International Conference Hall.
The proclamation ceremony was prepared with the purpose of urging government support for the activation of public delivery apps and revitalizing the local economy through a good consumption campaign using public delivery apps.
The event, which began with the “Good Price Good Consumption” campaign proclamation ceremony, was composed of a tour of major business promotion booths, presentations of excellent public delivery app franchise cases, and a public delivery app cooperation business agreement (MOU) signing ceremony between Baedal Teukgeup, Ttaenggyeoyo, Meokkebi, and Gwangju Economic Promotion Win-Win Job Foundation.
Gyeonggi-do recently decided to promote the activation of the private delivery app market operating with brokerage fees below 2% to support small business owners struggling with high delivery brokerage fees. Meokkebi and Ttaenggyeoyo were selected as project targets. From next year, these two companies will be able to use the Gyeonggi local currency payment system, further reducing the commission burden on small business owners and expanding the choices for delivery service users.
Gyeonggi-do Corporation prepared this agreement with the intention of leading the development of public delivery apps and spreading a culture of good consumption through cooperation with these companies.
In addition, at the talk concert for the activation of public delivery, Lee Jae-young, a member of the Gyeonggi-do Economic and Labor Committee, franchise representatives, consumers, and rider officials attended to discuss the current problems of the delivery market and the development direction of public delivery apps.
Ko Young-in, Deputy Governor of Gyeonggi-do Economy, said, “This kind of gathering seems to have been created to put our heads together and pool wisdom to solve the delivery fee problem in a difficult situation for both small business owners and consumers,” adding, “Let’s find a way for everyone to prosper through public platforms.”
Lee Jae-jun, CEO of Gyeonggi-do Corporation, said, “This event was a meaningful occasion to gather opinions on the value and importance of public delivery apps including Baedal Teukgeup and the direction to move forward,” and added, “Baedal Teukgeup will focus on the ‘Good Price Good Consumption’ campaign to promote coexistence between small business owners and consumers.”
Meanwhile, the event was broadcast live on YouTube to encourage online participation from consumers and small business owners who could not attend in person. Gyeonggi-do Corporation plans to continuously promote various policies and programs to revitalize public delivery apps and spread a culture of good consumption based on this proclamation ceremony.
About 300 people attended the proclamation ceremony, including Ko Young-in, Deputy Governor of Gyeonggi-do Economy; Ko Eun-jung, Chairperson of the Gyeonggi-do Council Economic and Labor Committee; Assembly members Lee Byung-sook and Lee Jae-young; Kim Hyun-sung, CEO of Gwangju Economic Promotion Win-Win Job Foundation; as well as consumer and small business owner groups, public delivery app franchise owners, and delivery rider organizations.
