Korea Consumer Agency, Performance Evaluation of 10 Products
It has been found that foam cleansers (foaming facial cleansers) used to wash off makeup or oil from the face have limitations in removing sunscreen residue from the skin.
According to the Korea Consumer Agency on the 19th, in the cleansing performance evaluation of 10 foam cleanser products (evaluation scale: Excellent-Good-Average), all products received an excellent rating for their ability to remove cleansing oil.
However, in terms of their ability to wash off sunscreen, only 5 out of the 10 products were rated as good, while the remaining 5 were rated as average.
The products rated as good were ▲Manyo Factory Deep Pore Cleansing Soda ▲Senka Perfect Whip Facial Wash A ▲AHC Prep Reset Cleansing Foam ▲Innisfree Volcanic Pore BHA Cleansing Foam ▲Happy Bath Micro Micellar Deep Cleansing Foam.
The products rated as average were ▲Nature Republic Snail Solution Foam Cleanser ▲Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Foaming Cleanser ▲Dr.G Green Deep Pore Clear Foam ▲Jeju Volcanic Anti-Dust Pore Cleansing Foam ▲Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Cleanser.
The Consumer Agency advised that since some sunscreen remains on the skin after using foam cleansers, thorough cleansing such as double cleansing (using cleansing oil or cleansing wipes to remove sunscreen or makeup first, followed by foam cleanser to wash off residuals with water) is necessary.

Additionally, when consumers rated various aspects of all foam cleansers on a 5-point scale, the 'overall satisfaction' scores ranged from a minimum of 3.1 to a maximum of 3.8, showing differences between products. The 'Manyo Factory Deep Pore Cleansing Soda Foam (Manyo Factory)' received the highest ratings for rinsability (4.2 points) and overall satisfaction (3.8 points).
As of May, the price per 10ml varied by about twofold among products. Nature Republic Snail Solution Foam Cleanser (Nature Republic) was the cheapest at 667 KRW, while Manyo Factory Deep Pore Cleansing Soda Foam was the most expensive at 1,333 KRW.
Based on price and performance, the Consumer Agency selected three products as having high 'cost-effectiveness' (quality relative to price): ▲Happy Bath Micro Micellar Deep Cleansing Foam ▲Senka Perfect Whip Facial Wash A ▲Innisfree Volcanic Pore BHA Cleansing Foam.
In addition, three products?▲Manyo Factory Deep Pore Cleansing Soda Foam ▲Nature Republic Snail Solution Foam Cleanser ▲Jeju Volcanic Anti-Dust Pore Cleansing Foam (LG Household & Health Care)?were classified as having high overall consumer satisfaction, including usage experience.
