A Step Toward Future Education
Gyeonggi Namyangju City (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) held a roundtable meeting on the 19th at the first-floor library of Namyangju Dasan Elementary School, where parents and school officials participated to directly listen to voices from the education field.

This roundtable meeting was organized to review school issues and educational support projects through communication with the Namyangju Dasan Elementary School education community, and to share various opinions to improve educational conditions. Eighteen participants, including Principal Jang Mi-jung of Namyangju Dasan Elementary School, the Parent Association, and the School Management Committee, engaged in lively discussions.
The meeting covered various topics such as △ installing diagonal crosswalks and ground LED lights at the intersection in front of Namyangju Dasan Elementary School △ securing space for the cramped library △ creating a future-oriented computer lab environment △ securing usage time for the Health Nuri Sports Park.
Additionally, concerns were raised regarding safety issues due to vehicle movement at construction sites and proposals for establishing a new library in the Dasan area.
Parents requested the establishment of a safe educational environment for their children and the provision of various learning resources, urging the city for continuous attention and support.
Mayor Joo Gwang-deok stated, “Children’s education and safety are our top priorities,” adding, “We will urgently review the matters discussed today and promptly prepare improvement measures.”
He continued, “As Dasan Jeong Yak-yong said, raising one child is like creating a whole world,” and added, “Namyangju City will support 1,300 universes, that is, the dreams of students, together with the education community.”
The city plans to continue strengthening communication with the education field and persistently promote student-centered education policies to create a better educational environment and contribute to nurturing future talents in Namyangju.
