Yangju City Holds '4th Quarter Yangju City Industrial Safety and Health Committee' Meeting

Mayor Kang Su-hyun: "We Will Do Our Best to Ensure a Safe and Comfortable Workplace"

Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 19th that it held the ‘2024 4th Quarter Industrial Safety and Health Committee Regular Meeting’ to promote the safety and health of workers in the city.

The ‘Industrial Safety and Health Committee’ is an important labor-management communication body that, according to Article 24 of the Industrial Safety and Health Act, deliberates and decides on necessary matters to maintain and promote the safety and health of workers, seeking workers’ understanding and cooperation and reflecting their opinions.

The meeting was attended by 16 people, including Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City as the chairman, heads of related departments, public servant union members, and public service workers’ union members.

The meeting included reports on ▲2024 safety and health activity performance, ▲2025 new activity plans, and ▲the establishment of Yangju City’s major accident prevention management system, along with deliberation and resolution on two agenda items: ▲listening to workers’ safety and health opinions and ▲improvement measures.

Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City said, “To effectively prevent major accidents, we should not rely solely on laws or policies, but a culture and awareness that prioritize everyone’s safety must spread and be supported,” adding, “Yangju City will also do its best to ensure that workers can work in a safe and pleasant workplace.”
