Changwon Volunteer Organizations Council Hosts Love Kimchi Making and Sharing Event

Kimchi Making: Directly Prepared 1,100 Boxes of Kimchi Delivered to 770 Needy Households and 330 Social Welfare Facilities

On the 19th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced that it held the 2024 Love Kimchi-Making and Sharing event at the Meeting Square of Changwon Sports Park, with about 250 members of the Changwon Volunteer Organizations Council in attendance.

The event was attended by Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, members of the Changwon Volunteer Organizations Council, executives and employees of the Muhak Good Day Sharing Foundation, and members of the Bright Society International Club Gyeongnam Federation, totaling around 250 volunteers.

The volunteers carefully coated and mixed seasoning on salted napa cabbages and personally made 1,100 boxes (5 kg per box) of kimchi. The kimchi was delivered by the members to low-income and marginalized groups in towns and townships, free meal centers, and child and youth facilities, practicing warm neighborly love.

Park Sooncheol, Vice Chairman of the Changwon Volunteer Organizations Council, said, “I thank the members who participate every year in the Love Kimchi-Making event despite their busy schedules. I hope the kimchi we made with care today will be delivered to those in need and social welfare facilities so they can have a warm winter.”

Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, said, “I am grateful to the volunteers of the Changwon Volunteer Organizations Council who continue the kimchi-making event with love and sincerity every year, and to the Good Day Sharing Foundation for their support. I hope the kimchi delivered today will be a precious gift to those in need, and our city will do its best to create a warm year-end and New Year atmosphere.”

Meanwhile, the Changwon Volunteer Organizations Council consists of 12,041 members from 81 organizations and actively carries out volunteer activities such as free meal service, kimchi sharing, side dish sharing, and environmental cleanup in the local community.
