"Political Declarations Continue in Daegu and Gyeongbuk University Areas: 'Resign Yoon Seok-yeol'" Professors and researchers from Kyungpook National University are issuing a political statement on the 19th in front of the school's north gate, calling for the resignation of President Yoon Seok-yeol. In their declaration, they stated, "Despite the flood of criticism, President Yoon Suk-yeol consistently feigns ignorance, saying ‘If there is a mistake, please tell me,’ claiming he does not know what the mistake is but has already apologized, asserting that the president’s election interference is not illegal but that the special prosecutor is unconstitutional. We hereby dismiss President Yoon Suk-yeol."

They continued, "(President Yoon) has no ability and no one takes responsibility," focusing on personnel issues such as the concentration of appointments from the prosecution and Seoul National University, the appointment of high-ranking police officials suspected of being informants, and the exclusion of individuals from public office appointments who are disliked. They also raised concerns about secret intervention and suspicions involving the president’s spouse and fortune-tellers.

Additionally, professors at Kyungpook National University cited the economic situation, which is more difficult than during the financial crisis and COVID-19, as well as the silencing of critics causing communication breakdowns across all sectors of the state, as reasons for calling for resignation due to issues with language and dialogue.

They said, “Until now, we have criticized individual personnel and issues within the government and demanded solutions from President Yoon, believing that eventually the president would have no choice but to act upon the understanding and demands of the people.” However, “the repeated occurrence of similar problems everywhere is entirely President Yoon’s responsibility, and furthermore, we realized it is our own responsibility for not holding the president accountable.”

They added, "Ultimately, this government has given the people no hope in terms of its personnel," and criticized, "At the center and root of all these problems is President Yoon Suk-yeol himself."

Through their declaration, they stated, "A president who does not listen to the people must step down," and warned, "If he neither listens nor steps down, we will remove him. President Yoon Suk-yeol is dismissed."

Earlier, 54 professors and researchers at Daegu University issued a declaration titled ‘We Are Angry at the Yoon Suk-yeol Regime’s National Governance Collapse’ on the 15th. On the 18th, 33 professors at Andong National University also demanded President Yoon’s resignation, stating, “Democracy, achieved through the sacrifices of countless democratic martyrs over the past 70 years and the candlelight revolution of the people who took to the streets, is sinking rapidly in just two years.”
