Namyangju City Conducts Training for Electric Vehicle Specialist Maintenance Technicians

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 19th that it successfully completed the 'Electric Vehicle Specialist Training' held over three weeks for automobile maintenance workers in the area at Shinhan University Uijeongbu Campus on the 17th.

This training was organized to respond to the increasing demand for electric vehicles due to the expansion of eco-friendly car distribution and to enhance the expertise of maintenance workers. In particular, it was conducted with the participation of the Gyeonggi Job Foundation's education project, saving about 10 million KRW in budget.


Currently, Namyangju City operates a total of 415 automobile maintenance businesses, including 51 comprehensive automobile maintenance shops, 11 small automobile comprehensive maintenance shops, and 353 specialized automobile maintenance shops. On this day, 63 workers from 57 companies attended the training.


The training content consisted of theory and practice that are practically helpful in the field, including △Understanding the structure of electric vehicles △Vehicle communication △High-voltage battery remanufacturing △Diagnosis and repair of high-voltage parts.


The representative of Hyundai Car Service, who participated in the training, said, "It was a valuable time to learn not only about the structure of electric vehicles but also about prevention measures for electric shock accidents that may occur during work and first aid." He added, "Especially, the support for vehicles for mobility convenience and administrative support for employees to prevent safety accidents allowed us to focus on the training, which was highly satisfactory."


Jang Jong-gi, head of the Automobile Management Division, stated, "In a situation where the distribution of eco-friendly vehicles is increasing, we will continue to provide new technology training so that local internal combustion engine maintenance workers can acquire electric vehicle maintenance skills." He added, "We will do our best to create an environment where citizens can use maintenance services more safely and conveniently."
