On the 19th, at an urgent policy forum hosted by the Yeouido Institute titled "The Launch of the Second Trump Administration and Strengthening the ROK-US Alliance and Trade Diplomacy," Han said, "Since there are various differences in security perspectives with the Trump administration, we must also prepare various flexible strategies in the process of protecting our security."
Han also mentioned at the Mugunghwa Forum in the National Assembly on the 11th, "Even if we do not directly possess nuclear weapons, it is necessary to concretely and systematically prepare to secure enrichment and reprocessing technology that can quickly advance to that stage amid the changing world order."
Han emphasized that unlike during the first Trump administration, the government is now prepared. He said, "Unlike in the past, we have fully restored the difficult trilateral cooperation among Korea, the US, and Japan," adding, "That is the difference from the Trump era." He continued, "Based on a perfect competitive edge in shipbuilding, including in Joseon, even the then President-elect Trump mentioned South Korea's shipbuilding industry," and added, "I believe we are in a position to seize opportunities amid this uncertainty."
Han also said, "The new stage of Trumpism we will face is very familiar. Because the uncertain is certain," and "During the election process, Trump spoke of 'America First, Asia Priority.' Ultimately, by shifting the focus to Asia, I think there could be opportunities for us."
