Jeon Seung-il, Chairman of the Gwangju Seo-gu Council, received the "Korea Legislative Award" on the 13th.
The Korea Legislative Award is presented annually by the Korea Media Group to outstanding contributors in various fields across society who have helped create a healthy and bright society in Korea.
During his legislative activities, Chairman Jeon was recognized for his efforts in enacting policies and ordinances for socially vulnerable groups, including the "Elderly Cane Support Ordinance," the "Ordinance on Sharing Cars Equipped with Wheelchair Boarding Devices for Elderly with Mobility Difficulties," and the "Sign Language Activation Support Ordinance."
Chairman Jeon said, "I feel an even greater sense of responsibility," and added, "I will continue to carry out legislative activities that contribute to the welfare of the residents through change and innovation, creating a better Gwangju Seo-gu that residents can truly feel proud of."
Prior to this, Chairman Jeon has continued his distinguished streak of awards by receiving the "Regional and Social Development Contribution Award," the "Korea People's Grand Prize," and the "Global Donation Culture Contribution Award."
