Sharing Students' Learning Outcomes with Local Residents
The Lifelong Education Center at National Mokpo University announced on the 19th that it will hold the ‘2024 MNU Lifelong Learning Festival’ at the Namak Campus Lifelong Education Center on the 30th.
This lifelong learning festival is an opportunity for students of Mokpo University’s Lifelong Education Center to share the lifelong learning achievements they have acquired over the year with local residents. Under the theme of ‘Lifelong Learning: Love for Learning, Harmony, Sharing, and Happiness,’ the event will take place in the multipurpose auditorium and the first-floor lobby of the Lifelong Education Center.

As a pre-ceremony performance, students from the Samulnori instructor course will perform, and during the opening ceremony, awards will be presented to lifelong learning contributors, including the Mokpo University President’s Award. Additionally, there will be performances by 20 teams, including the traditional Korean dance Salpuri from the Korean dance course, exhibitions and hands-on experiences of works by students from 17 courses such as traditional color painting, and various lucky draw events.
Notably, this festival will also feature an exhibition of Western paintings and lifestyle woodworking crafts created by students from the lifelong education course for adults with disabilities, conducted under the National University Promotion Project, adding deeper meaning to learning and harmony.
Lee Jin-hyung, Director of the Lifelong Education Center, said, “I hope this event becomes a joyful festival where lifelong learning achievements are enjoyed and shared with all local residents. As a lifelong education institution representing our region, we will continue to provide a wide range of high-quality lifelong learning opportunities to enhance the satisfaction of local residents’ lives.”
Meanwhile, Mokpo University’s Lifelong Education Center operated about 300 courses this year, including the new training course for general security guards designated by the National Police Agency, with over 4,200 local residents participating in various lifelong education courses through the center. The Korean dance course produced the ‘Jangwon’ (grand prize) at the 21st Supjaengi National Gugak Competition, and the poetry recitation instructor course achieved excellent results by winning the grand prize, gold prize, and encouragement awards at the 4th Mokpo Poetry Recitation Contest.
