22 Training Programs Launched to “Achieve Smart Administration and Increase Resident Satisfaction”

Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is promoting various projects to innovate administrative work using artificial intelligence (AI).

First, from September to November, the ‘AI Administrative Utilization Staff Contest’ was held. Aiming to improve administrative procedures with practicality, opinions from current public officials were gathered. Among various proposals in welfare, safety, and publicity, 16 individuals who presented excellent policies were honored with awards.

The grand prize was awarded to ‘Media Content Production.’ It received high praise for proposing practical AI applications in the video field, which involves a large workload.

In addition, highly effective projects such as ‘Floating Population Data Analysis,’ ‘Medical Law Consultation Chatbot,’ and ‘Development of Building Security Manual’ attracted attention.

Also, since last September, the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) system has been fully introduced. AI was applied to six tasks in the general affairs, service, and welfare sectors to simplify simple and repetitive administrative procedures.

As a result, it is expected to save 19,248 hours of work annually and improve productivity.

Regarding AI education, 22 courses are being operated to help strengthen capabilities. Next year, the plan is to expand demand-centered lectures and regularize contests for employees to reinforce the foundation of smart administration.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We are actively promoting administrative reform in line with the era where AI is widespread,” adding, “We will do our best to implement fast and efficient administrative services to provide high satisfaction to residents.”
