This drill was conducted in accordance with the "Regulations on Fire Safety Management of Public Institutions," and especially implemented by forming a self-defense fire brigade according to the fire plan of each office. The drill simulated a fire occurring on the first floor of each building, proceeding in the order of fire alarm issuance, evacuation, fire suppression using fire extinguishers and hydrants, and education on fire response procedures.
The city expects that this drill served as an opportunity to cultivate all employees' initial response capabilities to fires and to strengthen awareness of fire prevention.
Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri City stated, “Through the fire drill, the self-defense fire brigade members enhanced their emergency response capabilities for real situations and checked the cooperation system among related organizations. We will continue to make our best efforts to ensure citizen safety and maintain public facilities through various scenario-based virtual drills with the fire station.”
The city plans to continue conducting capacity-building training for self-defense fire brigade members and various scenario-based virtual drills in mutual cooperation with Guri Fire Station, and intends to thoroughly prevent fires by addressing issues identified during the drills.
