Crackdown on Illegal Distribution Until December 20
Hamyang County in Gyeongnam will conduct a comprehensive crackdown until December 20 to prevent the fraudulent distribution of Hamyang Love Gift Certificates and to establish a sound distribution order.
This crackdown will be carried out by analyzing suspicious data of fraudulent distribution collected from the integrated management system of the gift certificate operating agencies, Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation and Korea Simple Payment Promotion Agency, as well as reports from residents. After preliminary analysis, the inspection team will visit affiliated stores to verify whether fraudulent distribution has occurred.
The main targets of the crackdown include receiving or exchanging gift certificates without providing goods or services, refusing payment with local love gift certificates or refusing to issue cash receipts, and falsely registering as an affiliated store while operating restricted businesses such as gambling industries or entertainment establishments.
Depending on the severity of the violation, guidance or cancellation of store registration will be enforced, and if necessary, administrative penalties such as fines up to 20 million KRW will be imposed.
A county official stated, "Since Hamyang Love Gift Certificates are distributed to provide practical support to small business owners and residents, we ask for the active cooperation of small business owners and residents in this comprehensive crackdown on fraudulent distribution."
