Student's Parent and Security Guard Subdue
Recently, a series of random attacks have occurred in China, and on the 19th, a vehicle ramming incident took place at an elementary school in central China.
According to Xinhua News Agency, on the morning of that day, a sport utility vehicle (SUV) rammed into the entrance of Yong'an Elementary School in Changde, Huansheng, central China. The number of casualties in this incident has not yet been disclosed. Xinhua reported that "several students and adults were injured."
It is still unknown whether the SUV driver intentionally caused the accident, but Xinhua stated that "parents of the students and security guards subdued the driver at the scene."
Major foreign media are linking this incident to recent random attacks in China targeting unspecified groups, including vehicle rammings and knife rampages.
Earlier, according to Chinese public security, on the 11th, a man in his 60s named Pan drove an SUV into the sports center in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province in southern China, randomly ramming into citizens exercising on the outer track of the stadium, resulting in 35 deaths and 43 injuries.
Five days later, on the 16th, at a university in Yixing City, Jiangsu Province in eastern China, a university student dissatisfied with failing to graduate carried out a random knife attack, killing 8 and injuring 17, shocking the local community. In September, a random knife attack also occurred at a large supermarket in Shanghai, resulting in 3 deaths and 15 injuries.
Bloomberg News reported that "Chinese netizens are responding to the recent various (random) attacks in China by linking them to the economic downturn."
