Uijeongbu City's Representative B-Boy Crew Produces National Breaking Team Members

The representative B-boy crew of Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun), led by Captain Hwang Jung-woo, achieved outstanding results at the final selection competition for the national breaking team, the ‘2024 BreakingK Final Competition,’ held on the 17th at SBS Prism Tower in Seoul, raising the city's pride.

According to the city on the 19th, this competition, hosted by the Korea DanceSport Federation, was the final selection event for the 2025 national breaking team, where the country’s top B-boys and B-girls gathered to compete fiercely.

In the general B-boy category, Kim Jong-ho, a member of the Uijeongbu City representative B-boy crew, lost narrowly in the semifinals but secured victory in the 3rd and 4th place match, earning the Taeguk mark. Member Kang Kyung-ho ranked 7th, looking forward to next year. Additionally, Kim Chae-rim, who competed in the general B-girl category, placed 4th and was selected as a national team reserve member.

Member Kim Jong-ho said, “I am happy to return to the national team position after three years since 2022,” and added, “I am grateful to Uijeongbu City for supporting me so I could focus on preparing for the selection, and I will continue to perform impressively on the world stage.”

Under the city’s support, the Uijeongbu City representative B-boy crew continues active activities, providing B-boy education and performances for local residents and youth, contributing to the revitalization of local culture in Uijeongbu City, the mecca of breaking.
