On the first day, the participants enjoyed the beauty of the natural scenery while walking along the Seomjin River. They walked the Nampalanggil Course 48, which stretches from the Seomjin River Bridge connecting Jeollado and Gyeongsangdo to the Seomjin River Kkeutdeul Village. They spent the day enjoying various programs such as making pomegranate syrup, foot baths, small concerts, and a full meal of Seomjin River freshwater clam sashimi.

On the second day, the 16th, they walked the Nampalanggil Course 49, connecting Jinwoljeong Park, Baealdo Waterfront Park, and Wau Ecological Lake Park. The travelers participated in making seaweed-based foods such as gimbap and seaweed sandwiches at the Gwangyang Gimsi Historic Site. They enjoyed a free meal at the food town near the Yi Sun-sin Bridge, admired the day and night views of Gwangyang including Samhwa Island, Baealdo Island Garden, and Gubongsan Observatory, and spent the night at Doseon Guksa Village.

On the last day, the 17th, the itinerary included walking the Nampalanggil Course 50. The travelers walked around the Gwangyang-eup area, including Yudang Park, Jeonnam Provincial Museum of Art, and Gwangyang Bulgogi Specialty Street, and concluded the 2 nights 3 days journey by tasting Gwangyang Bulgogi, a representative local delicacy.

A participant from Ilsan said, “My image of Gwangyang was limited to the steelworks and plum blossoms. However, I learned that there are serene and charming spots such as the Seomjin River, Mangdeok Port, Baealdo Island Garden, and Yudang Park. I was especially surprised and impressed by the delicious foods like Gwangyang Bulgogi and Seomjin River freshwater clams. The Gwangyang Gimsi Historic Site, which commemorates the world’s first seaweed cultivation history, and the Gubongsan Observatory, where you can see Namhae and Hadong at a glance, were also very impressive.”

A participant from Daegu said, “The weather, scenery, and food were all great, and it was an opportunity to rediscover the high-quality culture and charm of Gwangyang. Next time, I will definitely visit again with my precious family and friends.”

Kim Seongsu, head of the Tourism Division of Gwangyang City, said, “We provided fam tour travelers with an opportunity to discover the hidden values and charms of Gwangyang by walking through alleys filled with beautiful nature, culture, history, and life stories. We will continue to operate rich and diverse walking programs to brand Gwangyang tourism and build its image as a tourist city.”
