After preliminary and international judging in the Asia region, a total of 10 works were selected for the grand prize. Suncheon City applied with the theme "A Change of Perspective! A New Beginning of Urban Space Innovation - Ocheon Green Square & Green Island" and won the grand prize.

The winning project received positive evaluations for the completeness of the waterfront green park that connects Suncheon Bay National Garden and the urban area by converting disaster prevention retention facilities and a four-lane road into green spaces, as well as for its usage by citizens. In particular, the challenging project of converting a four-lane road into a green park attracted attention from the judges.

Mayor Noh Kwan-gyu of Suncheon said, "As a result of transforming the retention basin in the city center into a square, it has become a space where citizens can communicate and enjoy themselves, improving the quality of life for the residents."
