On Child Abuse Prevention Day (November 19), Children's Artwork Exhibition and Joint Civil-Government-Police Street Campaign Held
Participated in Child Abuse Prevention Relay Campaign Hosted by Ministry of Health and Welfare and Child Rights Protection Agency
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) conveyed a warm message to the local community by conducting various activities to prevent child abuse on November 18, in observance of Child Abuse Prevention Day (November 19).
First, the district held an exhibition of children's works titled "100 Words of Praise & Words That Hurt" in the lobby on the first floor of the Jungnang-gu Office building. The exhibition conveyed the impact of language on children and emphasized the important role positive words play in child development through works expressing children's voices and emotions, garnering much empathy from residents. The exhibition will run until the 22nd.
Additionally, a joint street march involving the public, private, and police sectors was held to raise awareness about the importance of preventing child abuse. Starting from Jungnang-gu Office and continuing toward Junghwa Station intersection, the march included participation from Jungnang-gu, Jungnang-gu Child Committee members, Jungnang Police Station, Dongbu Child Protection Agency, and Jungnang-gu Facilities Management Corporation, among others. The march provided a meaningful opportunity to inform local residents about the necessity of eradicating child abuse and to encourage their interest and participation.
Furthermore, Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, joined the "Child Abuse Prevention Relay Campaign," reaffirming his commitment to spreading a positive parenting culture.
Organized by the Child Rights Protection Agency, this campaign began in May and aims to raise awareness about child abuse and promote a positive parenting culture where caregivers and children respect each other. It involves participation from public institution heads, private companies, and others, starting with the First Vice Minister of Health and Welfare, and proceeds in a relay format where each participant nominates two others to join.
Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi of Jungnang-gu participated in this relay campaign upon being nominated by Park Jun-hee, Mayor of Gwanak-gu.
Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi of Jungnang-gu stated, "The first step to eradicating child abuse begins with our small attention," adding, "We plan to continuously operate various programs and campaigns to prevent child abuse and promote children's rights, creating a child-friendly city where children are safe and respected."
