To Be Held for Visitors at Seosan Birdland on the 14th of Next Month
Seosan City in Chungnam is offering birdwatchers the opportunity to explore both the diverse migratory birds of the world-renowned Cheonsuman and nearby tourist attractions.
On the 19th, Seosan City announced that it will hold a 'Special Birdwatching Tour' at Seosan Birdland on December 14, where participants can directly decide the tour route to see the migratory birds they wish to observe.
According to the city, the existing birdwatching tours involved observing migratory birds along predetermined routes using large buses.
Unlike previous tours, the Special Birdwatching Tour will use medium-sized buses to move groups of about 20 people, and participants can also visit tourist sites such as Ganworam, Buseoksa, and Seosan Haemieupseong.
During the birdwatching tour, the city will collect photos taken by participants, categorized by birds, rare species, landscapes, and tourist attractions, and will present prizes to those who submit outstanding works.
This event is organized by the Cheonsuman Ecotourism Council, a local community group in Cheonsuman, Seosan, and citizens wishing to participate can apply through the Seosan Birdland website.
The city stated that currently, about 170,000 migratory birds can be observed in Cheonsuman, and expects that this special birdwatching tour will provide participants with unforgettable memories of the majestic flight formations of geese.
Additionally, to ensure the smooth running of the event, the city plans to thoroughly prepare quarantine and disinfection measures to prevent the spread of avian influenza.
Kim Jonggil, head of the Seosan Birdland Office, said, "We wanted to move beyond the traditional birdwatching tour format in preparation for the 2025 Asia Bird Expo," and added, "We plan to thoroughly analyze this event and develop various programs that can only be enjoyed in Cheonsuman, Seosan."
