Seosan City Attends Medical Device Safety Management Meeting Hosted by MFDS

Seosan City in South Chungcheong Province attended a meeting on June 18 organized by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety to discuss the advancement of medical device safety management.

According to the city on the 19th, the meeting was held at the Peace & Park Convention Center in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and was attended by about 80 people, including public health center officials and representatives from medical device sales agencies.

This year's event included an awards ceremony for those who contributed to establishing a safe environment for the distribution and sale of medical devices, a meeting to share achievements from the past year, and a discussion with industry experts and stakeholders aimed at improving the safety management of medical devices.

At the awards ceremony, Gu Sanghee, an official at the city public health center, received a commendation from the Minister of Food and Drug Safety in recognition of contributions to creating a safe environment for the distribution of medical devices through guidance and inspections of medical device sales establishments.

After the ceremony, participants shared this year's achievements in medical device safety management and improved systems, and took part in discussions to identify ways to improve post-sales management of medical devices.

Kim Yongran, head of the Seosan City Public Health Center, said, "We will thoroughly guide and inspect for false or exaggerated advertising of medical devices, and whether expired or invalid medical devices are displayed, in order to establish a safe environment for medical device safety management in Seosan City."
