'Ulsan Emergency Medical Support Team' Office Opens... Strengthening Regional Emergency Medical System

Expectations for Securing Expertise in Emergency Medical Policy and Building a Collaborative Network

Ulsan City will hold an opening ceremony for the Ulsan Emergency Medical Support Team office located on Dojil-ro, Nam-gu, at 11 a.m. on the 19th.

This opening ceremony was organized to enhance the professionalism and cooperation of the local emergency medical system.

The event will be held with about 30 emergency medical-related personnel, including Ulsan City, regional and local emergency medical centers, and 119 ambulance teams, and will include an introduction of the Emergency Medical Support Team, exchange of agreements, commemorative photos, and ribbon cutting.

The Ulsan Emergency Medical Support Team operates with the vision of establishing a ‘3S One-Call OK Emergency Medical System’ and plays a role in managing local emergency medical services based on scientific emergency medical data analysis, including developing local emergency medical policies and practical support, investigating the treatment status of local emergency medical institutions, and applying and evaluating Ulsan-type transport and acceptance guidelines on-site.

3S stands for Speedy, Safely, and Save lives.

Additionally, through the operation of a local emergency medical council involving the city, public health centers, fire departments, and emergency medical institutions, the team strengthens the local emergency medical cooperation network and discovers various emergency policies tailored to local circumstances.

The Ulsan Emergency Medical Support Team was established based on the revision of the Ulsan Metropolitan City Emergency Medical Ordinance in May last year.

Subsequently, through a public recruitment of operating institutions in June this year, the National Medical Center was selected as the entrusted operating institution and launched in July.

Professor Hong Eun-seok of Ulsan University’s Department of Emergency Medicine serves as the head, and the team is operated by a total of four members, including three dedicated researchers.

An official from Ulsan City said, “In a situation where maintaining the local emergency medical system is more important than ever due to prolonged political conflicts, the Ulsan Emergency Medical Support Team is expected to play a significant role in protecting the lives and health of citizens quickly and safely.”
