Ewha Electric announced on the 19th that it has signed a supply contract for a power supply system for guided weapon systems with a major domestic defense company, Company H. The contract is valued at 8.4 billion KRW and runs until January 2027.
The contracted power supply system will be applied to a domestically developed medium-range, medium-altitude surface-to-air interception system. This guided weapon system can effectively respond to ballistic missiles and aircraft flying at interception altitudes of 15 to 40 km.
The supplied quantity is the first batch of mass production, and the company explained that it could extend to an additional second batch of mass production. With the expansion of K-defense exports and performance and technological capabilities verified through environmental prototype development, the delivery of power supply systems is expected to continuously increase. Earlier this year in February, the company secured a contract worth 28.6 billion KRW to supply radar power systems exported to Europe.
Kim Jong-yeol, General Manager of Ewha Electric’s Defense Division, stated, "Including this contract, we have achieved more than twice the annual target order amount in the defense sector this year. Based on long-standing trust with the ordering company and the resulting achievements, we will do our best in technology development and quality assurance."
Since being designated as a defense industry company in 1978, Ewha Electric has developed various defense-related power supply devices. In particular, it has obtained the Defense Quality Management System (DQMS) certification from the Defense Agency for Technology and Quality and is currently supplying frequency converters and power supply devices required for systems such as Cheonma, Biho, Cheongung, and Patriot.
