Singer Ailee (real name Lee Ye-jin, 35) is marrying actor-turned-entrepreneur Choi Si-hoon (32).
On the 19th, Ailee's agency A2Z Entertainment announced, "Ailee will marry Choi Si-hoon on April 20 next year," adding, "The two met through an introduction by an acquaintance and have been in a relationship for about a year. With affection and deep trust, they promised to marry in May this year." Ailee also shared the news on her official fan cafe, saying, "I have met a thankful and reliable person to whom I can offer my shoulder to be cared for and lean on," and "His understanding and consideration made me want to spend my life with him."
Earlier, the couple began publicly dating in May. At that time, the agency stated, "They are having a beautiful relationship with a non-celebrity man introduced by an acquaintance, aiming to marry next year," emphasizing the seriousness of their relationship. Ailee also told her fans, "You must have been very surprised by my dating news, but thank you sincerely for your congratulations," and hinted at marriage by saying, "We are dating beautifully, so please support us a lot, and when the time comes, I will come back to you all with even better news. Meanwhile, Ailee was born in 1989 in Denver, Colorado, USA, and grew up in New Jersey as a Korean American. She debuted in January 2012 through a supporting role in KBS 2TV's 'Dream High 2' and began her official singing career by releasing the digital single 'Heaven.' Since then, she has released numerous hit songs such as 'I Will Show You,' 'Evening Sky,' 'U&I,' 'My Singing Has Improved,' and 'Don't Touch Me.'
Choi Si-hoon started his acting career in 2017 with the web drama 'Map Oppa' and appeared in dramas such as 'Started Following Romance,' 'Standby, Curator!,' 'Cafe Kilimanjaro,' 'Back Romance,' 'New Employee,' and 'New Employee: The Movie.' Notably, he gained public recognition by appearing on the 2021 Netflix dating show 'Single’s Inferno.' At that time, he was introduced as an actor-turned-clothing entrepreneur and is currently known to operate a restaurant in Jongno-gu, Seoul, and a lounge bar near Apgujeong Rodeo Station in Gangnam-gu.
