Donald Trump, the President-elect of the United States, nominated former Congressman Sean Duffy as the Secretary of Transportation for the second Trump administration on the 18th (local time).
In a statement announcing the nomination, Trump said, "He will prioritize excellence, qualifications, competitiveness, and beauty when rebuilding America's highways, tunnels, bridges, and airports. He will ensure that ports and dams contribute to the economy without compromising national security."

He added, "Sean will leverage his years of experience and relationships in Congress to maintain and rebuild national infrastructure, focusing on safety, efficiency, and innovation to usher in a golden age of travel."
Former Congressman Duffy, a former prosecutor, served as a U.S. Representative from Wisconsin from 2011 to 2019.
