As Dongduk Women's University students continue their protest against the transition to coeducation, an interview with a student comparing the current situation to 'admission fraud' has become a hot topic. The student pointed out, "(The transition to coeducation) is like joining Samsung, but the CEO suddenly changes the name to Xiaomi."

On the 12th, a video interview with a Dongduk Women's University student participating in an on-campus sit-in was released on the YouTube channel 'Hainity.' The student said, "We enrolled knowing it was Dongduk Women's University, so why are they trying to change it without discussion?" and added, "This is somewhat like 'admission fraud.' It's the shock of joining Samsung, but the CEO suddenly changes the name to Xiaomi." The student continued, "Since there have been many cases of transitions announced without consultation before, there is anxiety that if we don't protest strongly, it will pass again."

The interview spread across various online communities, sparking heated debates among netizens. Some criticized the statement with comments such as, "No matter what, comparing Dongduk Women's University to Samsung is absurd," "The analogy itself is ridiculous," "Did you really enter because it's a women's university? Or did you just meet the score?" "That's why there's no dialogue," and "Were all Dongduk Women's University students thinking like this?" On the other hand, some defended the student, saying, "Wouldn't there be an uproar if a regular company changed its corporate name? It is fraud," "Why are people who don't attend speaking when the students who do hate it?" and "Many applied because it was a women's university. It's clear fraud."

Meanwhile, Dongduk Women's University announced that the student occupation protest triggered by rumors of the transition to coeducation has caused damages estimated up to approximately 5.4 billion KRW. On the 15th, the university stated on its website that the damage caused by the protest is estimated to be between 2.44434 billion KRW and 5.44434 billion KRW. The school explained that this estimate is based on claims for compensation of about 330 million KRW from the organizer of a canceled job fair due to student intrusion and property damage, building repair and cleaning costs ranging from 2 billion to 5 billion KRW, and additional admission-related expenses of about 100 million KRW. In response, students strongly opposed, saying, "The school is intimidating students by using money as a pretext and creating anxiety."
